E.C. horrors of the early 1950's such as 'Tales from the Crypt', 'The Vault of Horror' & 'The Haunt of Fear', to the somewhat sophisticated nightmarish visions of the Warren and Skywald horror publications including 'Creepy', 'Eerie', 'Nightmare' & 'Psycho'. It also features a wealth of information on the ultra-violent, ultra-rare, ultra-primitive and ultra-pricey pre-code horror and crime comics of the early 50's including the likes of 'Mister Mystery', 'Voodoo', 'Crime SuspenStories', 'Law Breaker's Suspense Stories', 'Black Cat Mystery', 'The Tormented', 'Weird Mysteries', 'Eerie Adventures', 'Venus', 'Tomb of Terror' -- and many, many more! You'll read about the kinds of stories these morbid mags contained, and the controversy they caused between uptight parents and the general public, eventually leading to horror and crime comic censorship in 1954 at the hands of the Comics Code Authority.
